Calculation, Interpretation, and Evidence
What Selfgazer calculates, what it interprets, and how to judge the difference.
Birth-Chart Calculation
The birth-chart workflow sends a date, time, location, timezone, and selected house system to a dedicated calculation service. The implementation uses Kerykeion and returns tropical-zodiac chart data. Placidus is the default; changing the house system can change house assignments.
A precise output is only as useful as its inputs. Unknown times, ambiguous daylight-saving transitions, and high-latitude house calculations need special care. A placeholder time is not a recovered birth time.
AI Interpretation
Selfgazer connects a dedicated chart calculation workflow with conversational interpretation. The Oracle uses the context available in your session to help you explore your questions without configuring a separate calculation tool.
Selfgazer's symbolic interpretations are prompts for self-reflection. They do not establish a psychological diagnosis, another person's inner state, or a future outcome. A calculation test cannot validate those interpretive claims.
Traditions and Translations
Tarot and I Ching meanings vary across decks, translations, and schools. We distinguish a source text from later commentary and from our own generated interpretation. Jungian ideas inform our language, but Selfgazer is not a replacement for psychotherapy.
