How the Chiron Sign Is Calculated

Chiron is a small body orbiting between Saturn and Uranus, discovered in 1977. Its orbit is so stretched that its pace through the zodiac varies enormously: from 1900 to 2060 it spent about 1.3 years per pass in Virgo and about 4.2 years in Aries. It circles the zodiac in about 50 years, so the Chiron return arrives around age 50.

Astronomy Engine has no data for Chiron, so the calculator reads Chiron's position from tables generated with the Swiss Ephemeris, accurate to within a few arcseconds.
